Our Chapter History

Founded in 1964 and 1969 respectively, the Phoenix and Scottsdale Chapters merged in 2002 into the current AZ Valley of the Sun Chapter.

Current Membership

As of June 2008, our chapter has 505 members consisting of accounting and finance professionals, retired professionals, and students. Our members work in a variety of capacities including private and public corporations, accounting firms, universities and colleges, and as sole practitioners.

We have over 180 members that currently hold a CMA and/or CFM designation. Additionally, many members are also CPAs, CFEs, and/or CIAs, among other designations.

Activities

We hold monthly dinner/educational technical seminars that combine an opportunity for networking and for Continuing Professional Educational (CPE) Credit. We also participate in many annual activities in support of worthy organizations such as Cancer Awareness and hold a yearly fall food drive to help provide for those in need.

CMA Certfication

As members of IMA, we actively work to promote and support the CMA certification. We receive new inquiries almost weekly regarding the CMA exam with many members scheduled to take the exam this year and hope to reach 200+ CMA's in the Valley by the end of 2007.
